Monitoring & Evaluation
Monitoring and Evaluation
Many projects run into problems, and as such, project evaluation/review allow projects to recover through to successful outcomes. We use the following criteria to evaluate projects: Stakeholders are committed, Business benefits realized, Schedule predictable, Scope realistic, Team performance at a high level, Risks mitigated and organization benefits to be realized.
Before an evaluation is conducted an evaluation plan is developed, which will lay out what, when and who will conduct the evaluation; what level and type of evaluation is required; who will benefit from the results of the evaluation and how; and what resources are required. When the evaluator is ready to conduct an evaluation, the evaluation strategy/plan and the summary template provides a guide. Finally, an evaluation report format is provided which is used to present the results of the evaluations of both the project scope, schedule and the budget baselines.
Reporting and using results are important elements of M&E. The client is encouraged to use the results of ongoing monitoring of project performances to improve management processes.
