Brigitte PEDRO (PhD)
Dr. Brigitte PEDRO (PhD) is an Associate Consultant with DPM. She has 15 years experience in
project management and more than 18 years as a scientist. Dr. Pedro has a wide range of experiences
in sustainable development, community development, environment, elections and Demobilization,
Disarmament, and Reintegration (DDR) . She has developed various tools for monitoring, evaluation
and training. She has also prepared modules in development studies, international politics and business
management with UNISA (University of South Africa).
In 1988, after graduating with a PhD in Material sciences (optic fibres), she started her career with
Electricité de France (EDF), one of the biggest electricity utility company’s in the world. Some of her
other work engagements include: Chief of an Electro-technical material group to conduct the group
research strategy on electrical material; Head of Mission for an electricity project aimed at community
development; UNDP monitoring and evaluation specialist for the Democratic Republic of Congo
(DDR) and Security Sector Reform, (SSR) programmes in the DRC; and United Nations Office for
Project Services (UNOPS) as an election expert Mrs. Pedro is a French national currently domiciled
in South Africa.
